BALLET FOR AGES 18 MONTHS TO 18 YEARS

A proficient dancer requires a foundation in Ballet. We therefore encourage all dance students to receive Ballet training to learn the fundamentals of body alignment, flexibility, balance, and grace. Our ballet instruction is based on the Russian Vagonova technique; our choreography, which reflects this classical technique, is set to contemporary music, making it appealing to both students and audiences. Our pre-Ballet program begins at age 2, designed to nurture a love of dance and to teach the basic vocabulary and steps that form the foundation of dance.) Barre work begins at age 6 (grade 1). At this level students wear a uniform and develop the discipline required to train as serious dancers. Our students begin pointe work when indicated by their teacher, thus assuring readiness and safety. At age 10, students are encouraged to take several ballet classes per week. Students have the opportunity to perform in our annual spring dance concert; additional performance opportunities include Ballet Production Study and "Nuts About the Nutcracker." Ballet classes are taught year round and on Saturdays during the school year to accommodate working parents.

I will never forget the giant smile on my daughter’s face as she emerged from her first ballet class at the Enchanted Garden. The teachers are extremely accessible and caring to both the students and the parents. The staff looks out for their dancers’ wellbeing, health, and happiness. The environment is professional, warm, fun, and magical. I am eternally grateful for all the opportunities afforded my daughters here.
