JAZZ FOR AGES 5 THROUGH 18
Jazz combines popular music and movement style, while incorporating the necessary skills required to accomplish leaps, turns, balance, and kicks. It is a technique (unlike Hip-Hop, which is a style) that forms the basis of many styles of popular dance and is therefore recommended as part of a comprehensive dance education.

Broadway Dance
Do you love to dance...to sing...to act? Then our Broadway Dance class is just the ticket for you. Broadway Dance is the incorporation of jazz, ballet, and modern dance styles with acting and singing to tell a story. Using the vast musical theater canon, Broadway Dancers will work toward acquiring skills needed for healthy vocal production, dramatic storytelling, and a fusion of dance techniques.

My daughter took Miss Amanda's Broadway Dance class for this first time this year. The class was so fun! She came home every week with a big smile and so excited to show us the latest moves. The best part is Miss Amanda's enthusiasm and love for working with the kids. She was dancing and singing right along with the girls every class. We are excited for more Broadway Dance with Miss Amanda!

Dancers begin the physical training aspect of dance, starting with vigorous warm-ups set to current-day music. Aerobic exercises, flexibility training, leaps, turns and complex choreography make up the advanced level jazz classes.

Jazz Repertory
(Grades 5-12)
Jazz Repertory is an additional jazz class for students who want more. The emphasis of this class is on the choreography, which is mastered throughout the year. The result is a very polished dance routine performed at the annual spring concert. (A Jazz repertory class must be combined with a Jazz technique class.)
