Our Approach
Walk into the Enchanted Garden and you’ll know instantly why children love to learn here. For more than thirty years, we have instilled a sense of wonder about the world and a love of learning in an environment of joy and kindness.
Rooted in the philosophy of New York’s Bank Street College, a world leader in the field of early childhood education, our play-based program nurtures the whole child emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically.
Our students learn through art, music, storytelling, sensory play, movement, and creative exploration. Math and reading skills are taught in ways that are fun, engaging, and feel natural to
the students. Our hands-on science curriculum includes experiments, cooking with Chef Noah, nature study, and gardening. We introduce students to the richness of the wider world through stories, songs, traditions, artifacts, and activities reflecting different cultures.
Children spend lots of time outdoors every day in our unique and fanciful playgrounds, where children explore, move, imagine, and connect with the natural world. Outdoor experiences support physical development, coordination, and confidence, while also encouraging curiosity, observation, and scientific thinking. Our indoor gyms ensure children stay active all year long.
Our teachers design thoughtful experiences that support each child’s individual growth. Through both guided instruction and open-ended exploration, they help children develop self-confidence, creativity, and a love of learning. Our students enter kindergarten with the social and literacy skills needed to thrive. For older preschoolers, our transitional kindergarten offers a gentle, developmentally appropriate bridge to elementary school.

It has been amazing to watch Noah grow, change, and become such a special boy. You gave him the time, love, and space he needed to bloom — and challenged him to think both creatively and critically.
—Meg & Jeff
The teachers encouraged Mackenzi’s natural inquisitiveness and allowed her to learn and grow in a supportive and nurturing environment. She is creative, imaginative and eager to learn and explore — qualities that arise from The Enchanted Garden’s approach to education.
